The Mason’s Company’s Inaugural Gilder Lecture ‘Stone & City’ will be on 23 October 2018 at St Andrew’s Holborn, and given by Adrian Paye of PAYE Stonework, who was recently involved in the reconstruction of the Temple of Mithras beneath the new award winning Bloomberg building.
We are grateful that long standing ASCHB member John Burton has obtained the Master’s permission to open up the talk to members of ASCHB, and further details are given here: The Gilder Lecture

This month’s meeting will be a Forum on the Insulation of Historic Buildings – come and hear the latest thinking on this difficult subject. The meeting will start early at 5.30pm for 6pm at our usual venue at The Gallery in Cowcross Street. For further details see our Meetings page here

The season starts with a talk on the works at the Royal Academy by Julian Harrap Architects office on Tuesday 25 September at 6.00pm for 6.30pm.

The SPAB’s first grand exhibition runs Friday to Saturday 7-6 September at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. There will be talks and demonstrations, information on careers, and expert advice on hand. Details can be found on the SPAB website here
The NHIG are running a seminar on 15 November on Colour and Finish in Heritage Ironwork at The Gallery, Cowcross Street, questioning the assumption that ironwork should be black, and presenting paint research and practical conservation.
